Once A Year It Happens Just Like Magic. The Triangle's Hit Holiday Musical Comedy Now Celebrates 39 Years!
2013 marks the 39th anniversary year of Ira David Wood III's beloved musical comedy adaptation of A Christmas Carol. The show has been performed annually since 1974 and has been named one of the "Top 20 Events in the Southeast." Cited as "one of the most successful shows in North Carolina theatre history," A Christmas Carol has enjoyed critically acclaimed tours to England and France.
With over one million people having experienced the magic of A Christmas Carol throughout the years, the show regularly sells out. Many of its honors include the Metro Ovation Award, the Triangle Arts & Entertainment Reader's Choice Award, Proclamations from the Mayor of Raleigh and the Governor of North Carolina, and the distinct privilege of being the first theatrical production at DPAC.
This year, A Christmas Carol will split its performances with its "home" of the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts Memorial Auditorium and at DPAC. Season Members benefit from advance ticketing. You must become a 2013/2014 Season Member to benefit for A Christmas Carol 2013. To get advanced ticketing for the 40th Anniversary, December 2014, you must renew for the 2014/2015 Season.
Tickets go on sale to the general public for Raleigh performances October 13. Tickets to DPAC performances are on sale now.
